Role Purpose:
We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to manage and maintain our AWS infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Redis, Load Balancers, VPC, etc.) and a strong understanding of cloud security and compliance frameworks, particularly FedRAMP.
You’ll play a key role in keeping our systems stable, optimized, and compliant with federal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
AWS Infrastructure Management
- Deploy, configure, and maintain AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, ElastiCache (Redis), Load Balancers (ALB/NLB), IAM, and VPCs
- Manage system backups, failover configurations, and scaling strategies
- Ensure infrastructure reliability, performance optimization, and cost efficiency
Security & Compliance
- Implement and maintain FedRAMP and NIST 800-53 aligned security controls within AWS
- Apply IAM best practices, encryption policies, and secure network segmentation
- Collaborate with compliance teams to produce audit documentation and maintain a strong security posture
Automation & Monitorin
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools
- Manage CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure updates and application deployments
- Monitor infrastructure health using CloudWatch, AWS Config, and other monitoring tools
- Respond to incidents and continuously optimize system performance
Networking & Access Control
- Design and maintain private VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, and VPNs
- Ensure proper access control and network isolation for secure environments
Collaboration & Documentation
- Work closely with development and security teams to support deployments and infrastructure changes
- Maintain up-to-date infrastructure documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures
Required Qualifications
- 3–6 years of experience managing AWS-based infrastructure
- Strong hands-on experience with EC2, S3, RDS, Redis, Load Balancers, and VPC networking
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI
- Solid knowledge of Linux administration, networking fundamentals, and cloud security best practices
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., AWS CloudWatch)
- Understanding of FedRAMP or other government compliance frameworks
